Frequently Asked Questions

What is the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)?
The NSP (scholarships.gov.in) is the central government platform for processing scholarship applications from SC/ST/OBC, minority, and differently-abled students. It covers pre-matric and post-matric scholarships from multiple ministries. NammaDocs can guide you through the process.
When is the scholarship application deadline?
NSP scholarship applications typically open from July and close in October/November each year. Karnataka state scholarship deadlines vary. It is important to apply as soon as your institution provides the enrollment certificate — do not wait until the deadline.
My child is in Class 6 — can they apply for a scholarship?
Yes. Several NSP pre-matric scholarships cover Class 1 onwards for SC, ST, OBC, and minority students. NammaDocs can identify the right scheme and complete the application for you.
Is there a scholarship for students not from SC/ST backgrounds?
Yes. The NSP merit-cum-means scholarship is for students from any community with good academic performance and family income below Rs 4.5 lakh per year. Karnataka also has merit scholarships like Rajyotsava and others that are not caste-based.
